Jacobs-Special-NWL: Slide Show

We bought this house in 1981 after retirement from a career in the AF. The lake more than made up for the dated condition of the house. Four bedrooms, three private baths, three fireplaces and views of the lake from every room made it worth the effort as well. We lived there for five years before selling and moving to New Orleans, but we'd purchased the empty lot next door and improved it by building a boathouse and retaining wall, plus a lot of landscaping including in-ground steps to the lakeside and many flowering trees and shrubs. We didn't sell this lot, thinking someday we might build on it. When, 25 years later, we found our old house for sale at a bargain price, we couldn't resist. Very little had been done to the house to change it from the way we left it and is very much in need of updating again and this time we're doing it ourselves... slower for sure, but we have plenty of time...
